Before returning instruments for service

Fault Diagnosis
Please ensure thorough investigation of a problem by consulting instrument Manuals available on this web site and the Support Web Page before returning an instrument to TPS for service.  Some problems, such as incorrect settings, can be resolved by users themselves.  This will save unnecessary freight expense and time.

Examples:
pH sensor will not two point calibrate at pH 7 and pH 4.
If you have a second working pH sensor, connect it to your instrument and attempt to calibrate again.  This will reveal if the pH sensor or instrument is faulty.  Note that before connecting the second pH sensor, the instrument should be 'Initialised' as per the instructions in the instrument Manual.

If using a refillable Intermediate Junction pH sensor - IJ44 (121234), ensure that the sensor has been refilled with reference electrolyte (potassium chloride / KCL) before calibration.  See Intermediate Junction sensor manuals on this web site TPS brand IJ44 pH Instructions.

A pH sensors glass membrane can become dirty and may need to be cleaned as per sensor instructions available on this web site, pH & ORP Instructions.

Cleanliness
Please unsure that instruments and sensors are cleaned properly before returning them for service to prevent exposure to harmful chemicals or biohazards by service staff.

Service / Return Goods Form
Include a completed Service / Return Goods form with the item being returned.  Describe the fault(s) in detail and state whether a cost estimate is required first.  Please specify whether the item is required urgently, so that we can prioritize completion of service work quickly for fast return to you. Include your return address.  If you require return by over night courier service then your street address is needed.
